Okay this heat wave has finally broken, but it won't be long before the next wave of 90+ temperatures makes life a little more difficult. Most of us have AC units or central air to cope with the heat, but if u don't or if you want to be a cheap bastard and build your own for around $25 bucks. Then here are some plans on how to do it. The homebrew AC unit will cool a room to a comfortable level in 15-20 mins, and will run for a few hours on a garbage pail full of water.
